Why did you make this?
I've been feeling frustrated about my experience on the web, and I don't think I'm alone.I've found myself:
- unable to find information online quickly and easily,
- concerned about how data collected about me is being or may be used, and
- saddened/enraged/worried about big tech's role in the climate crisis.
The default mode of sharing and obtaining information online is to navigate systems owned and operated by large corporations. This site is my exploration of other modes that prioritize & engage people and respect the environment of which we are part.
I think solutions lie not in going offline forever, but in actively contributing to the kind of tech I want to see.
Who are you?
I'm M - I'm not a programmer, and I don't even have a lot of free time. I like making and fixing stuff, though, and sharing skills with friends. I love B-movies, bikes, and being near bodies of water.
